Following the announcement by the government and Khazanah Nasional a few weeks ago, today marked the rollout of e-Tunai Rakyat allocations to eligible Malaysians. Touch n Go eWallet is one of the official eWallet for the program and looks like its operator, TNG Digital is offering additional perks to entice users to redeem the RM 30 allocation from them.
For starters, users can apparently obtain an additional RM 30 from TnG eWallet for redeeming their e-Tunai Rakyat allocation. But, there is a catch to this though as the additional RM 30 actually comes in the form of multi-part cashback for transaction of at least RM 20, as stated in this FAQ:
At the same time, users that applied for the e-Tunai Rakyat allocation will also receive double the entry for TnG eWallet weekly lucky draw which starts from today until 10 March 2020. Aptly timed with the rollout of e-Tunai Rakyat, the lucky draw is offering Proton X70, Yamaha Ego Solariz, Huawei P30 Pro, and Vivo V15 every week.
Given the perks mentioned above, it is not surprising to see that the TnG eWallet kept on showing Connection Time Out and System Offline error once the e-Tunai Rakyat redemption goes online. Things should get better throughout the day, so hang on tight.
