It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is another possible name for the company’s upcoming foldable phone. Previously, the phone was reported to be called Galaxy Fold 2, and more recently at CES 2020, the Galaxy Bloom.
Prominent leaker Ice Universe posted the name and an accompanying graphic in Twitter. Of course, there’s no way of knowing if this is really the case. If it is, it makes for an interesting naming convention.
To be fair, the Z line isn’t exactly new for Samsung. As Engadget points out, the company once used the letter to represent its phones running Tizen OS. But to be fair, the phone back then was simply called the Samsung Z, rather than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. It was also first announced nearly six years ago, so this shouldn’t be taken to mean that the upcoming phone will have anything to do with that operating system.

At any rate, with so many names floating around, it’s anyone’s guess as to which will ultimately prove to be the actual name of Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone. At least there are no new leaks refuting the phone’s possible specs. For now, the phone is believed to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and a 10MP front-facing camera.
The phone is also expected to be officially unveiled during the first Samsung Unpacked event of the year. This is where the Galaxy S20 will likely be officially unveiled, with its name seemingly confirmed.
