2019 was the year Klipsch officially went the true wireless route and did so with its T5 True Wireless earbuds, which we found to be a solid performer, despite requiring some improvements in its design. This year, the audio brand is adding several new true wireless models to its lineup, all of which will be on display during CES 2020.
First up on Klipsch’s list are the T10 True Wireless and T5 True Wireless ANC in-ear earphones. As premium models of the new lineup, both models are expected to ship out with a bunch of updated features. including AI, gesture controls, and as you’d expect, active noise cancellation or ANC.
The embedded AI feature is interesting, although, at this point, details of its implementation are still limited. On that note, there’s also no additional detail about the specification for either the T10 or T5 ANC.
Price-wise, the T10 True Wireless will be priced at a hefty US$649 (~RM2662), while the T5 True Wireless ANC will retail for less at US$299 (~RM1226). Both earbuds are expected to be available sometime during the third quarter of 2020.
Moving down the list, Klipsch is also developing a more rugged, sportier version of the T5 True Wireless. As seen in the image below. According to the brand, both the earbuds and its casing are dust and water-tight and offer an IP67 rating. Design-wise, the “Sports” version of these T5 earbuds will come with three sizes of ear wings for better stability. Price-wise, they will retail for US$229 (~RM939) and will be available during the sometime during the second half of 2020.
Last but not least are the T5 II True Wireless Earbuds. As the 2nd generation and successor to the current generation T5 True Wireless, these updated earbuds have been given a slight facelift that addresses the initial concerns of the first T5. Case in point, the T5 II now shows off a smaller nozzle for the ear canals and comes with six pairs of Klipsch’s patented oval ear tips. The earbuds also come with an improved Bluetooth antenna, but battery life reportedly remains the same.
Like the Sports version of the T5, the T5 II is expected to be available sometime during the second half of this year, and at a retail price of US$199 (~RM816). We’ve reached out to TC Acoustics for local availability and pricing, but sadly, they were unable to provide us with such information at this time.
