Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) yesterday has announced that it will be making price adjustment to the PlayStation Store Malaysia in line with the upcoming implementation of digital tax. As you might have heard, the government has announced that there will be a 6-percent tax on all digital services from foreign content providers starting from 1 January 2020.
As such, the tax will be applied on all purchasable items and subscriptions services on PS Store Malaysia starting from that very date at 8 AM Malaysian time. That being said, the actual price update at the store will only takes place from 4 to 6 January 2020.
Hence, you might see some price differences between the listing on PS Store Malaysia and the actual price you have to pay at the checkout. If you somehow confused, just look at the final price at the checkout page.
Interesting enough, SIE has also stated that there is no price change for PlayStation Plus subscriptions for the time being. At the same time, there will be no SST on the reload amount that you top up into your PlayStation Store’s wallet.
All in all, just prepare to brace for the impact, gamers.
