The upcoming Motorola Razr foldable phone features a Retro Mode that brings back the good ol’ classic Razr user interface on its screen. Fortunately, you don’t have to wait for the phone’s release – let alone own it – in order to enjoy this bit of nostalgia.
An XDA contributor, acervenky, has created a similar classic Motorola Razr UI launcher for the Android platform, with separate goodies including classic wallpapers, boot animation, and audio to go along with it. To download the classic Razr launcher and other files, you can check out its XDA forum thread with this link.
The classic Razr launcher is a Quick Setting toggle, and will require you to add it to your Quick Settings in order to use it (you can refer to the video by acevenky below). However, keep in mind that the launcher may not support all Android phones at this time. XDA forum members have reported that OnePlus 7 Pro and other smartphones are not compatible with the launcher, and the boot animation will only work on rooted phones.
On the official side of things, the Motorola Razr’s release was recently pushed back due to high demand, and it is still uncertain if the foldable phone will ever make its way to Malaysia. In the meantime, at least acervenky’s launcher could satisfy that nostalgia itch. Just remember to not accidentally bend your non-foldable phone after use.
