YouTube is introducing new features to its mobile phone application, smart TVs, and gaming consoles that will provide its users more accessibility. These new additions include a voice commands and a remote control function when viewing, among others.
Voice command enables you to control the casting content by pressing the Cast button and speaking to your phone when the microphone icon appears. From there, you can issue commands such as “play”, “pause”, or “skip ahead,” and also search for video content. The remote control function is pretty straightforward. Without going to much into detail, it allows you to use your phone to control YouTube on your smart TV via simplified playback buttons.
Other than that, Youtube is also adding a “Who’s Watching” feature that allows you to switch between different accounts linked to your device and easily access another user’s content, and the navigation menu will be updated to list out your favourite pages. Finally, HDR support on Youtube will also be added to the PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles.
These updates will be rolling out via server-side update on YouTube version 14.50.53.
