The OPPO Reno 3 series is expected to launch sometime this month. In order to build more excitement before its full reveal, Brian Shen, OPPO’s vice president has been dropping more hints on what to expect from their upcoming smartphone – namely its specifications, as well as more of its design.
In previous weeks, Shen revealed on his Twitter account a portion of the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G’s frontal design which revealed its curved screen display and thin size. Following Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Tech Summit which happened last week, the OPPO vice president has confirmed that the Reno 3 Pro 5G variant will be equipped with a Snapdragon 765G SoC. Other confirmed details regarding the phone include featuring dual-mode 5G connectivity, a 4025mAh battery, and a weight of less than 0.18kg.

In a tweet on 9 December, Shen drops another tease of the Reno 3 Pro 5G’s design by revealing its rear and left profile. From the teaser, it’s confirmed that the phone will sport gradient colour scheme, as well as featuring a diagonal quad-camera setup on the rear’s upper left side. The volume rockers are present on its left, while it was previously revealed that its lock/power button is situated on the right.
Other than that, OPPO has not revealed any other specifications on the Reno 3 series. However, GSMArena reports that TENAA certifications revealed that the standard Reno 3 model is allegedly equipped with 8GB RAM, 128GB storage which is expandable up to 256GB, and a 3935mAh battery. Other than that, the report also mentioned that the phone will have a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a top-center notch housing a 16MP camera. It also allegedly features a 48MP main camera paired with an 8MP and dual 2MP sub camera sensors. Whether this information is accurate or not, also do keep in mind that the Reno 3 Pro 5G variant will most likely differ in terms of specifications.
It’s not officially confirmed whether the Reno 3 series will retain the series’ signature pop-up selfie camera module, or will feature a punch-hole approach instead as speculated by different sources. While we do know the upcoming smartphone series is slated to launch this month, OPPO has not disclosed its exact date just yet.
