The realme 5S was announced in India last month, featuring specs similar to that found in the original realme 5. The brand has also decided to launch the phone locally, with it likely being the last launch by the company for the year.
As previously mentioned, the realme 5S is what looks like a strange mashup of the realme 5 and realme 5 Pro. In terms of specs, it is essentially the realme 5, with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, and 5000mAh battery. The 13MP front-facing camera and three of the four-camera lineup on the back are similar too.
One of the key difference of the realme 5S is the main camera. Rather than the 13MP one found on the realme 5, it features the 48MP sensor from the realme 5 Pro. As a sort of trade-off, the 6.5-inch display in front has been changed from Full HD+ to HD+.
The realme 5S is scheduled to be launched in Malaysia on 12 December 2019. We’ll find out then what the device’s local price is like, as well as the variants that we’ll be getting. It’s likely that realme Malaysia will launch only the configuration with more storage capacity.
