The Galaxy Buds is Samsung’s answer to Apple Airpods – an audio companion device to any of the brand’s line of phones. While it was well received by Samsung fans, it did lack one necessary feature that could have made it an even better device: Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). Word has it that this feature may finally make its way to its 2020 successor, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus.
The hint was dropped in a tweet by serial leakster Evan Blass aka evleaks, which read “first came the AirPods Pro… then came the Galaxy Buds+.” While some may shrug it off as a random rambling from Blass, SamMobile and others were quick to point out two possibilities from the tweet. First was the name “Galaxy Buds Plus” which was speculated to be the name of the successor to Samsung’s true wireless earbuds, and the second being the comparison with the recent Apple Airpods Pro which now comes with ANC.
Blass has been a reliable source of leaks alongside a number of other leaksters on the internet. As vague as the recent hint was, it did leave plenty of room for speculations. We can’t be certain if the second generation of the Samsung Galaxy Buds will actually include ANC, but it is definitely a much welcomed feature to have if rumour is proven true. And maybe we might actually see the earbuds launch together with the Samsung Galaxy S11.
