The old Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (THPS) video games were among the most iconic arcade sports games of the 90s. If you were a fan, then you’re likely longing for another game in the series. This is especially after THPS 5, which was released in 2015, turned out to be a complete mess. As it turns out, it appears that publisher Activision may be working with the legendary pro skater on something of the sort.
Serial leaker Sabi shared on Twitter that prototype remakes of THPS 1 and 2 were making the rounds within Activision. It’s still not known if these will end up being full remakes of the games, or as part of a test for something new.

Another possible piece to the puzzle may have been found on The Nine Club podcast. One episode featured pro skater Lizzie Armanto, who said that Tony hawk is “coming out with another one, and I’ll be in that too”. Interestingly, that particular bit has been scrubbed off of the episode. According to GamesRadar+, the snipped was originally found in episode 168, around the 2:05:00 mark.
The licensing deal between Activision and Tony Hawk ended in 2015. This partly led to the hasty release of the last one. A new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game suggests that the two have come to a new deal. And if the publisher intends to make an announcement, The Game Awards 2019 would be one of the earliest avenues..
