Nikon Malaysia today launched the brand new addition to their Z series mirrorless cameras with the Nikon Z50. Although seen as compact and lightweight device, the new Z50 packs improved features and performance, as well as retaining the ergonomics found in its predecessors.
The Nikon Z50 features a 20.9MP sensor, a quieter shutter, powerful ISO range of up to 51200, a high autofocus performance even in lowlight at -4 EV, and is capable of 11fps in high-speed continuous shooting. Video-wise, the camera is able to capture videos of up to 4K UHD without crop, and time-lapse movies with in-camera stitching.
The Z50’s body is made with lightweight magnesium alloy to complement its compact size, while also featuring a 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD display which is capable of tilting 180-degrees for self-portraits or attempting odd angled shots. With YouTube and Instagram creators in mind, the camera also includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity to allow instantaneous media sharing to the user’s phones or laptops.
Along with the new Nikon camera also saw the debut of two new Z lenses from the company; the Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR kit lens, and the Nikkor Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR lens. These lenses can be bundled up with the Nikon Z 50 or purchased separately. The camera is also compatible with current Nikkor Z series lenses, and also a wide range of other lenses from Nikon via a FTZ adapter.
The new Nikon Z50 is available now and is priced at RM4098 for body only, RM4598 when bundled with the 16-50mm kit lens, or RM5398 when bundled with both of the new Z lenses.
