The iconic mobile game Angry Birds by Rovio will turn 10 on 11 December 2019. For this year’s celebration, Rovio is showcasing a “venting machine” to release your anger.
As the name suggests, you may punch, shake, hit, and even shout at the machine as a part of the showcase. The machine is modelled after the character “Red”. It comes with two handlebars and is covered in soft foam with paddings on the sides to take your abuse. Also, there are LED lights on the front side that respond to your punches. However, kicking is not allowed as it would be difficult to clean.
According to Engadget, the machine is able to withstand hard shakes without being toppled. Additionally, it is equipped with cameras for broadcasting your tantrums on a nearby billboard, or to play them back to you. At the end of the venting session, the machine shall reward you with a prize packed in what looks like the in-game Angry Birds TNT box.
The machine is made in conjunction with the “Bring The Anger” campaign. As part of the campaign, Rovio will also be donating US$100000 (~RM415910) to UNICEF’s Education in Emergencies fund when Angry Birds 2 players pop 10 billion pigs in the game.
The showcase is only limited for a day, on 21 November at Times Square, New York. Rovio is also inviting WWE’s Superstar “Big Show” and YouTubers “Deestroying” and “Team Edge” for the event.
