In their effort to deliver immersive experiences to moviegoers, cinemas in Malaysia have consistently implemented quite a variety of audio-visual enhancements into their premises. One of the latest examples came from TGV Cinemas who have revealed what they claimed as the largest Flexound Augmented Audio installation in the world.
Available now at the newly opened TGV Cinemas in Toppen Shopping Centre Johor Bahru (also the home to the new IKEA JB), it is also apparently the first Flexound Augmented Audio installation in Southeast Asia. If you not familiar with Flexound, it is a company based in Finland and its Augmented Audio technology involved the implementation of sound modules directly into individual cinema seats.
This means that each of 140 seats in the Flexound auditorium has its own audio system. Flexound has claimed that the Augmented Audio technology can provide equal audio quality regardless of the seat location in the cinema hall alongside better dialogue clarity and immersion.
In terms of ticket pricing, TGV Cinemas didn’t provide specific information regarding that in its official announcement. However, a quick search earlier today through its website showed that the ticket for a show in Flexound Augmented Audio hall is priced at RM 18 while Deluxe+ hall costs slightly lower at RM 16.
