Back in July, HONOR first unveiled the 9X, the successor to the HONOR 8X. Now, HONOR Malaysia has decided on a date for the phone’s local launch. It will be happening on 21 November 2019.
During its initial unveiling, the HONOR 9X was revealed to have a 6.59-inch Full HD+ display, a 4000mAh battery, and three RAM and storage configurations – 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. It will also be running EMUI 9.1.1 based on Android 9 Pie. As for cameras, it has a 48MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor on the back. The front-facing one is a 16MP popup module.
On the processor front, though, the version of the HONOR 9X that’s coming to our shores could come with different chipset, instead of the Kirin 810 as initially announced. This may allow the phone to be shipped with Google Mobile Services (GMS). This averts a major sticking point that affects the company, as it’s the sister company of Huawei.
The local announcement of the HONOR 9X is only nine days away, at the time of writing. It won’t be long before we find out its price, available configurations, and if it will indeed come with GMS.
