Aside from the showcase by local game developers and the flag-off ceremony for Team Malaysia’s esports representative to SEA Games 2019, Level Up Play 2019 also hosted the grand final of Predator League 2020 Malaysia Qualifiers for Dota 2. With up to RM 25,000 of cash prizes up on the line, also up for grabs is the spot at Predator League 2020 Finals in Manila, Philippines next February.
After four state qualifiers and two online qualifiers, the playoff stage that was hosted by Level Up Play 2019 eventually lead to the final showdown between CDEC.Avenger who went through the lower bracket’s hellish route against the upper bracket leader and the champion of Selangor Cyber Games 2019, Flower Gaming.
However, Flower Gaming proved to be too strong for CDEC.Avenger to overcome as it managed to win the final battle with a straight 2-0 win in the best-of-three match setup. While CDEC.Avenger did give its best but the team was defeated by Flower Gaming within around 30 minutes in both matches.
Meanwhile, the Predator League 2020 Malaysia Qualifiers doesn’t end with the conclusion of the Dota 2 event though, as the action will move on to PUBG later this month. To learn more or to register your PUBG team for the event, head on to the Predator League’s official website right here.
