Back in May, Electronic Arts (EA) announced in an earnings call that the company plans to bring Apex Legends to mobile platforms. Company’s chief executive Andrew Wilson said in a more recent earnings call that the publisher will be bringing the experience to mobile.
That said, there’s a catch. The mobile port will not be launching until the company’s 2021 fiscal year, which starts on 1 October 2020. And even then, it’s likely the mobile version will not be released immediately on the day itself.
During the call, Wilson also said that the Apex Legends community has grown to over 70 million players. The company will also have related competitive programs, but Wilson says that the company will share more details on that soon.
At the very least, now we know that a mobile version of Apex Legends will show up in the future. Unfortunately, it will only appear sometime between 1 October 2020 and 30 September 2021.
