Marvel’s roster of superheroes is very diverse. The Disney subsidiary is not only adding to the diversity, one of the new superheroes will even be a Malaysian. For now though, it looks like his appearance will be limited to a mobile game called Marvel Future Fight.
Before we get to the game, let’s talk about the new Malaysian superhero first. He’s the Sun Bird, a member of a new team of Marvel superheroes known as the “Warriors of the Sky”. If you’re unfamiliar with Chinese mythology, the Warriors of the Sky are loosely based on the Four Symbols, sometimes also known as the Four Guardians.
As the Sun Bird, our Malaysian superhero is the guardian of the South. Described as a pirate from the 1600s reborn, he wields a pair of krises and acts as the healer for the team. Alongside him are War Tiger from Thailand and Shadow Shell from Taiwan, with Vietnamese Blue Dragon leading the team.
As for Marvel Future Fight, this is a game that’s developed by Netmarble. It’s also the game that first saw the introduction of a few other original heroes before this. These include the South Korean Luna Snow, Crescent and Io. These characters have already had their appearances in Marvel’s comics, so it may be a matter of time before the Warriors of the Sky appear in other Marvel media.
If you want to see the Sun Bird and the other Warriors of the Sky in action, you can download Marvel Future Fight from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
