These days, videos on the internet have a tendency of being interrupted by a video advertisement just as things are about to get interesting. It’s annoying and intrusive; Tencent know this, and to that end, the China-based conglomerate is trying to change that by seamlessly embedding those very same ads into shows.
Like so many other big data companies in the world, Tencent is harnessing the power of AI and using the construct to directly imbed differents directly into a TV show or film. All without interrupting the flow of the show.
To be precise, Tencent partnered with UK based AI company, Mirraid for the implementation. It is said the AI will be able to deliver advertisements without hindering the viewing experience.
Examples of the act can be seen below, in the video posted by Matthew Brannan. As you can see, Tencent’s AI system both simply and seamlessly lays the brands in a variety of situations; from the coffee cup of an actor to the banner of a moving bus, the concept is ingenious as it is unintrusive.
Wow! Worth watching this. China's largest video platform #Tencentvideo (97M paying China subscribers) will begin inserting extra ads into movies/series that didn't exist in the original. #computervision pic.twitter.com/qltsQz9jdF

At the time of writing, Tencent says that it is currently testing its own streaming platform. Is it not clear if the advertisement will be interactive, but suffice to say that if this new marketing method works, other streaming platforms might just consider implementing them too.
