The company itself proudly proclaimed that it finally justify the letter “S” in its name with this announcement. In addition to bringing League of Legends to mobile phones and consoles, Riot Games has unveiled a new game codenamed “Project A”.
Classified by the company as a character-based tactical shooter game, the Executive Producer of Project A, Anna Donlon stated that the dev team want to deliver a tactical shooter with a lot of creativity, expression, and style. Hence, maybe that is why the characters inside the game are given additional abilities as you can see in the trailer below:
In the same trailer, you also would notice that Anna has briefly touched upon certain technical parts of the game that are beyond gameplay. Among them is low latency via netcode optimization and global infrastructure as well as anti-cheat implementations.
Since Riot Games made its name via League of Legends which is one of the most popular MOBA in the world, it will be quite interesting to see if the company able to achieve the same mark in the competitive shooter space. Meanwhile, gamers out there can expect to hear more about Project A in 2020.
