Fortnite’s Season 10 ended last Sunday with an event known simply as “The End”. What players didn’t expect was the entire game going down, along with its social media accounts, without any explanation whatsoever. Until now.
Thanks to a leak by data miner SkinTrackerCom, we now have an inkling as to what exactly Epic Games is planning for Fortnite. The leak, which comes in the form of a YouTube video, indicates that the game will be given a new name: Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1.
The trailer shows several new features being added to the game; it’s a sign that Epic Games is trying to turn the franchise into something that is more than just a battle royale shooter title. One new addition shows players gaining experience via fishing, as well as some combat action taking place on boats.
Additionally, the update will enable players to carry their ally on their back, although it isn’t unknown if this will be some sort of class-specific action. This might change how players can be revived by their teammates.

On the other hand, it is reported that China is able to preload the update on consoles with a file size of 13GB. Fortnite leaker HYPEX (@HYPEX) posted a screenshot allegedly from Fortnite China. Announcing that the update will officially roll out on 15 October, which is today.
