It was only two weeks ago that OnePlus has unveiled its new flagship model, the OnePlus 7T to the world. Now, the company has added two more options into the mix through the new OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition.
Despite the Pro monicker, the phone still carries the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor as per the vanilla variant of OnePlus 7T. In fact, one might need to pay close attention to the OnePlus 7T Pro’s design or dive deeper into its specs sheet in order to find the difference between the phone and its non-Pro counterpart.
The most noticeable difference would be the pop-up selfie camera on the Pro variant, as opposed to the non-Pro model which comes with a selfie camera that is housed within its teardrop-shaped display notch. Despite that, both variants actually still carry the same 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor and f/2.0 lens inside their selfie camera.
While the Pro model does not feature the circular rear camera module as per the non-Pro flavour, the sensor setup for the phone’s main and ultra wide angle cameras remained the same which consisted of 48MP Sony IMX586 and 8MP respectively. Somehow, OnePlus choose to implement a lower resolution 8MP sensor for OnePlus 7T Pro’s telephoto camera although the optical zoom capability for the phone has been increased to 3x.
The Pro model also features a curved 6.67-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with pixel density of 516 ppi but still has the same 90Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint scanner as per the non-Pro variant. Additionally, it also still supports HDR10+.
Not to forget, the OnePlus 7T Pro is also equipped with a higher capacity battery at 4085mAh as compared to the non-Pro model that has 3800mAh battery. Naturally, it also comes with the Warp Charge 30T fast charging tech which is also available on the standard OnePlus 7T.
All of the characteristics mentioned above are also applicable to the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition together with its McLaren-themed colorway, UI skin, carbon fiber/Alcantara protective case, and packaging. The McLaren model also comes with 12GB RAM instead of the default 8GB option although it still comes with 256GB internal storage.
In terms of pricing, the OnePlus 7T Pro goes for INR 53,999 (~RM 3,190) while the McLaren Edition is listed at INR 58,999 (~RM 3,485). For now, there’s no official indication whether these phones will be released in Malaysia or otherwise but nevertheless, we’ll keep you updated if there’s any update from OnePlus.
