Following its announcement last week, Samsung today begins to accept pre-orders for the new Galaxy Fold in Malaysia. Given the device’s hefty price tag and the mixed vibe surrounding its durability despite has being rectified by Samsung, one might think that the Galaxy Fold is a slow mover.
Furthermore, there’s some effort needed to pre-order the device as a customer have to physically visit a participating Samsung Experience Store (SES) or retailer and make a non-refundable deposit of RM 800. Despite all that, Samsung has announced it has actually sold out all the pre-order allocations for Galaxy Fold in Malaysia.
Interesting enough, Samsung has also decided to put the Galaxy Fold for consumers to experience themselves at these participating retailers. Being the most complex and premium device that the company has in its lineup at the moment, we are not surprised to see that the Galaxy Fold that was put on display has been assigned with its own handler, based on the pictures that Samsung has provided to media members:
Priced at RM 8,388, Samsung has not announced a general release date for Galaxy Fold in Malaysia but given that pre-order customers are able to pick up their unit starting from 16 October, we believe that it shouldn’t take long for Galaxy Fold to be available to those who missed the pre-order today.
