Sony’s PlayStation 4 (PS4) will be getting its 7.0 software update which brings improvements for both its Party and Remote Play feature. The update is scheduled to roll out globally sometime this week worldwide.
For Remote Play, the new update will now non-Xperia smartphones running on the Android OD 5.0 and later to stream games directly from the PS4 console. Prior to this, streaming PS4 games to smartphones exclusive to Sony’s Xperia smartphones, and only became available on iOS devices much later.
Additionally, if you are running Android 10 or iOS 13, you can connect the DualShock 4 controller to your smartphone via Bluetooth for Remote Play. As a reminder, Sony is also reminding PS4 owners to use a LAN in order to ensure a steady and optimal streaming experience.
As for the Party Feature, the maximum number of participants in a party has been increased from the eight to 16. Further, Sony has also improved network connectivity and audio quality for its voice chat.
As mentioned, the update is expected to roll out within this week. So, Android users can keep a lookout for the Remote Play app on Google Play soon.
