The wait for the Samsung Galaxy Fold is nearly over. Samsung has announced that that the foldable smartphone will officially be arriving in Malaysia this month, and that it will be taking pre-orders for the device soon.
Prior to Malaysia, Samsung kickstarted the Galaxy Fold pre-order campaign in other countries, including South Korea and Singapore. Reception for the phone was reportedly overwhelming; the phone sold out at every preorder event.
Samsung first unveiled the Galaxy Fold back in February this year during an exclusive event in San Francisco, California. The phone was supposed to launch in April 2019, but major and crippling flaws surrounding the display – made worse by iFixit’s teardown – forced Samsung to recall all existing units. And postpone the launch until now.
At the time of writing, Samsung Malaysia still hasn’t provided an actual date for the pre-order campaign, neither has it given a venue.
