Its existence was first noticed by the world and then acknowledged by Google around two months ago. Now, the company has officially announced further details regarding its new subscription service, the Google Play Pass which has been seen by some as a response to Apple Arcade.
As reported before, the Play Pass allows users to access apps and games without any ads or in-app purchases in exchange for a monthly fee. In other words, the subscription service allows users to enjoy their apps and games completely unlocked.
There are more than 350 apps and games already part of Play Pass catalogue with new apps and games to be added every month, according to Google’s announcement today. Similar to Google Play Family Library, up to five family members can share one’s Play Pass subscription.
At this moment, the Google Play Pass is only available for the United States although the company has stated that it will be announced the monthly price for international markets very soon. Priced at USD 4.99 (about RM 21) per month, Google is currently offering the subscription at USD 1.99 (about RM 9) per month for the first 12 months in conjunction with the launch.
