When Acer launches its ConceptD line-up back in New York around five months ago, the company utilizes NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics for almost all the laptops within the series with the exception of ConceptD 5. Fast forward to IFA 2019 last week, the Taiwanese giant has unveiled the new ConceptD Pro series which is essentially the NVIDIA Quadro RTX-based variant of all the ConceptD laptops that we’ve seen so far.
In total, there are four laptops within the ConceptD Pro series, which is being led by the ConceptD 9 Pro. For those who not familiar with this particular model, it is a creator-oriented variant of Predator Triton 900 and now features Quadro RTX 5000 graphics instead of the GeForce RTX 2080 as per the non-Pro model.
As for ConceptD 7 Pro, the laptop can be obtained with either Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q or Quadro RTX 3000. On another hand, the ConceptD 5 Pro graphics options include the Quadro RTX 3000 and Quadro T1000 while the newly introduced ConceptD 3 Pro comes solely with Quadro T1000.
Just like their non-Pro counterparts, all the screens on the ConceptD Pro models are Pantone validated with 100% coverage of Adobe RGB colour gamut and a maximum brightness of 400nits. This is except for ConceptD 3 Pro though which is still Pantone validated but has 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and slightly lower maximum brightness level of 300nits instead.
Not for forget, the ConceptD 9 Pro’s display also has DeltaE <1 colour accuracy rating while the rest of the family are said to offer DeltaE <2 rating. Last but not least, all four ConceptD Pro models are designed to deliver minimalist fan noise of under 40dB which is another of Acer’s main promises for the ConceptD series.
Here are the general availability and starting pricing for the new ConceptD Pro series:
ConceptD 9 Pro: November 2019, USD 5,799.99 (~RM 24,188)
ConceptD 7 Pro: November 2019, USD 2,699.99 (~RM 11,260)
ConceptD 5 Pro: October 2019, USD 1,999.99 (~RM 8,341)
ConceptD 3 Pro: November 2019, USD 1,699.99 (~RM 7,090)
For now, Acer doesn’t have any firm timeline for the release of ConceptD products in Malaysia. That being said, the company is already working towards it although the rollout of the ConceptD products in Malaysia might not follow the common retail route since they are made for content creators, designers, and professionals.
