One of the key features of the OnePlus 7 Pro is its 90Hz display. But that sort of refresh rate came at a price, literally speaking. It would appear that the company is looking to address this issue with its upcoming phone. It will not only keep the current flagship’s 90Hz display, but also be more afforable.
In an email interview with CNET, OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau said the company’s upcoming phone is already in the works. Beyond the display’s refresh rate and its relative pricing, he hinted that it will also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series chipset. Beyond that, Lau did not share any other information about the upcoming phone.
The upcoming phone in question would probably be called the OnePlus 7T. Renders of the phone have already made its way online. They suggest that it will have a notched display like the OnePlus 7. The OnePlus 7 Pro that feaures the 90Hz display came with full-body display and popup camera instead. The renders also show a round main camera module with three cameras.
At any rate, it would be better to wait for the phone to actually be announced. With Lau saying that the phone will be launched “very soon”, it may also not take too long before OnePlus confirms all of these details.
