As promised, Xiaomi has officially unveiled the new Redmi Note 8 Pro series for the first time to the world. Plenty of details regarding the phone have been teased or leaked prior to its launch today, so it is good that the company is finally able to release all the official details regarding its new phone.
Equipped with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display, the new Redmi Note 8 Pro is generally the first device to be powered by the equally new MediaTek Helio G90T processor. The new phone can be obtained with three memory and internal storage combinations including 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB.
The phone also comes with a quad camera setup on its back which includes the 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 as its main camera sensor. Alongside it is an 8MP 120-degree wide-angle camera, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor while there’s also 20MP selfie camera on the front part of the phone which is housed within the screen’s teardrop-shaped notch.
Completing its general specifications is a 4500mAh battery which supports chargers with a power rating of up to 18W. Rear fingerprint scanner, infrared blaster, NFC functionality, and 3.5mm audio jack also come as standard on Redmi Note 8 Pro.
In terms of pricing, the Redmi Note 8 Pro with 6GB/64GB config goes for CNY 1399 (~RM 825) while the 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variants are listed at CNY 1599 ~(RM 943) and CNY 1799 (~RM 1062) respectively. For now, it is not yet known whether Xiaomi will bring the new phone to Malaysia but nevertheless, we’ll keep you posted once we hear more from the company.
