Nintendo has officially announced that its mobile racing title, Mario Kart Tour, will be heading to the iOS and Android devices on 25 September 2019. The announcement was made via the company’s official Twitter account earlier today.
The game was first announced back in 2018 and was initially slated for a March 2019. Sadly, Nintendo delayed the release to the mobile devices to sometime in summer but gave no specific date then.

This is the fourth game Nintendo brings into the mobile platform, and the second to feature Nintendo’s iconic mascot. Prior to Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo already released other titles including Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
According to 9to5Mac, Mario Kart Tour will be free-to-try, where users are able to have a shot at the initial stages of the game, before being required to make a purchase in order to unlock the full game. This purchase method isn’t all too unfamiliar; prior to this Nintendo implemented the same payment structure with Super Mario Run, and it seems to be a more decent freemium method than most others being used in the free-to-play gaming circuit.
Other details regarding the game remain unclear, and no mention of pricing or its different gameplay modes were mentioned in the announcement.
