The league listing for the upcoming eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 has revealed that the six-time Malaysia Super League winner, Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) will be featured in it. The team will be appearing in the game which will be released next month as part of the AFC Champions League.
For those who not familiar with the championship, the AFC Champions League is a regional tournament which involved league champions from all over Asia. In the 2019 edition, JDT qualified to the group stage of AFC Champions League as the champion of Malaysia Super League in 2018.
As observed by JomGaming, this is the first time that a Malaysian team has appeared in a major football game when Malaysia Premier League teams were included in FIFA 98: Road To World Cup around 22 years ago. Prior to that, the teams have also appeared in FIFA 96 and FIFA 97.
However, it is rather unfortunate that our own national team, Harimau Malaya didn’t make into the game as Malaysia’s name is not listed under the Asia-Oceania region for the National Teams list. Guess we have to first qualify or win something bigger than the AFF Suzuki Cup.
