A few days ago, the vigilant SIRIM database observer, Kevin Ng TK has discovered that Sony Xperia 1 has passed through the certification process by the national standards authority. Despite what we have heard back in May, we have received confirmation from Sony Malaysia that the phone will indeed be released in our market.
According to Sony Malaysia’s representative, the Xperia 1 will be made available through direct channels including Sony Store branches. However, the phone’s exact availability and pricing is still a secret for the time being although Sony Malaysia’s representative did acknowledge that such information will be announced soon.
The Sony Xperia 1 is currently the company’s flagship phone at the time being, which is fitting enough that the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor alongside 6GB of RAM. Comes standard with 128GB storage, one big factor that made the Xperia 1 unique is its 21:9 aspect ratio that Sony has adopted for its 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED processor.
Other than that, the Xperia 1 also offers three 12MP cameras on its back and an 8MP selfie camera in addition to 3330mAh battery. We’ll keep you updated once we receive further information from Sony Malaysia regarding the arrival of Xperia 1 in our market.
