In general, mid-range smartphone is the most diverse segment of the market with some of these devices can be quite affordable while some can be pricey. If you’re looking at the former category, then the realme 3 Pro is a pretty good one to pick up. It was made available back in May, with two RAM and storage configurations. Even the better equipped one comes with a competitive price tag.
The realme 3 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a dewdrop notch, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, and a 4045mAh battery. As for cameras, the realme 3 Pro has a 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup at the back, and a 25MP front-facing camera.
The configuration with better innards also comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This one also comes with a price tag of RM1099, but you can currently get it for RM999 on Shopee and Lazada.
But would you pick the realme 3 Pro over its competition? Speaking of competition, there is one phone that comes to mind – the Samsung Galaxy A50. Let’s compare the two, and find out why you should pick one over the other.
First, let’s look at what these phones have in common. And the first two things that come to mind are the RAM and internal storage, with both devices having the 6GB + 128GB combo. Both devices also have a 25MP front-facing camera. And both devices have a 5MP sensor as part of their rear camera setup. And finally, the two devices share the same display resolution, at Full HD+. The two phones also happen to use the dewdrop notch.
Beyond these, there are plenty of small differences between the two phones that will help you pick one over the other. While both devices feature a Full HD+ display, the realme 3 Pro’s display measures in at 6.3 inches, while the Samsung Galaxy A50 has a 6.4-inch screen.
As for processors, the Samsung Galaxy A50 runs the Korean company’s own Exynos 9610. This is opposed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 of the realme 3 Pro. The Samsung Galaxy A50 also comes with a 4000mAh battery. On the other hand, the realme 3 Pro’s battery is marginally larger, rated at 4045mAh. It also comes with support for VOOC fast charging.
On the camera front, the Samsung Galaxy A50 does have a 25MP + 8MP + 5MP combo. That said, the realme 3 Pro is capable of 64MP supersampling shots, 960fps super slow-motion videos and a dedicated Nightscape mode for low-light shooting conditions.
And finally, we get to the price. The Samsung Galaxy A50 launched with a RM1199 price tag. In contrast, the realme 3 Pro launched with a price of RM1099, and is currently available for RM999.
