When it comes to cameras on phones, a fair number of companies have begun putting four cameras at the rear. Realme is not one of them yet, but it looks like it’s set to change soon. The company’s Twitter account announced that one such phone will be launched in India on 8 August.
The company calls the event itself the Realme Camera Innovation Event. In addition to having four cameras at the back, it will also feature a 64MP main camera. The company also claims that this will make the upcoming phone the first to have a combination of both.

Beyond the 64MP main shooter, Realme has not revealed regarding the four camera setup. That said, judging from other quad-camera configurations, it’s likely one of them will be a wide-angle camera. The other two could be either a telephoto lens, a macro camera, or a depth sensor, judging from other recent quad-camera implementations.
It’s also interesting that Realme made the jump from a dual-camera setup straight to a quad-camera combo. Either way, we’ll find out next week when the company makes the official announcement.
