While 5G network might not be a norm yet at the moment, quite a number of manufacturers have released 5G device including OPPO. The company today has demonstrated the capability of such device in Malaysia for the first time with the help of Celcom.
The said device is the OPPO Reno 5G which is already on sale in Switzerland and Australia. During the public demonstration, the unit was apparently able to reach download speed of around 1.2Gbps consistently.
The Reno 5G is essentially the 5G variant of the Reno 10x Zoom Edition which means that it is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. According to its global website, the Reno 5G also comes standard with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage in addition to its 6.6-inch full HD display, triple rear camera system with periscope-shaped 10x zoom lens, pop-up 16MP selfie camera, and 4065mAh battery.
While there have been plenty of 5G demonstrations in Malaysia since a few years ago, this is one of the first instances that it was done using a device that has been released into the market. However, we don’t expect that the Reno 5G will be released in Malaysia anytime soon though since our 5G network will only be commercially available in the next few years.
