With Harry Potter: Wizards Unite already out, chances are you’re playing that instead of Pokémon Go. Despite the addition of player battles and the Snapshot feature, the core gameplay has pretty much remained the same. But if you’re still an active player, then Niantic has something for you. The charge attacks during battles have been given a rework.
As it is now, battles in Pokémon Go involves tapping the screen to use normal attacks, or rapidly tapping to power up charge attacks. Niantic made the announced via Twitter that charge attacks will be changed. From the preview, charge attacks will be made to be mode interactive, involving swipes over icons. This makes the mechanic kind of comparable to what Harry Potter: Wizards Unite currently has for a combat mechanic.

Another minor change is to the appraisal system. As it is now, your team leader will give you a cryptic line regarding your Pokémon’s IV. This is very similar to the way the mainline games work. With the rework, you’ll get a graphical representation of your Pokémon’s stats.
Besides describing the upcoming changes, Niantic did not say when these reworks will come into effect. But when it does go live, you’ll likely notice if you’re an active player, considering these mechanics are pretty integral parts of the gameplay.
