Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 855 Plus, a slightly souped up version of the current Snapdragon 855. The company said we can expect to find in phones launched in the second half of 2019. And it looks like one of these phones is the ASUS ROG Phone 2.
TechRadar reports that the Taiwanese gaming brand has confirmed two things. First is that the phone will be launched on 23 July. Second being that it will be the first phone to come with Qualcomm’s powered up Snapdragon 855 Plus.
We first caught wind of the ASUS ROG Phone 2 last month, when it was teased by the brand’s Weibo account. For now, the only other known feature besides the new Snapdragon 855 Plus chip includes a 120Hz display. Seeing as the first ROG Phone came with 8GB of RAM, it won’t be surprising to see the second generation have the same or more.
For the complete spec sheet, we’ll have to wait for the official launch to find out. Seeing as the date is said to be 23 July, it won’t be too long a wait before we find out more.
