An image of the upcoming HONOR 9X has appeared online, featuring the rear of the device itself. It’s an official promo image that’s part of efforts to tease the phone building up to its launch in China. The launch itself is scheduled to take place on 23 July 2019.
From the image, it looks like the HONOR 9X will come with a triple camera setup. That’s one camera more than the preceding HONOR 8X, which features a 20MP main shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. It remains to be seen if the extra camera unit is one that does wide-angle shots, or if it’s a telephoto shooter instead.
The image also suggests that the HONOR 9X will feature a side-mounted power button and fingerprint sensor hybrid. This is something that first showed up on the HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro. It’s design looks to be similar as well, with the button sitting in an indent on the side.
Triple camera and side-mounted fingerprint scanner aside, the HONOR 9X is also said to come with a Kirin 810 chipset. Other features reportedly include a popup front-facing camera, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. While none of these are confirmed, we’ll find out for sure come 23 July.
