VAIO recently lifted the veil off SX12, a new 12.5-inch Notebookthat features more I/O ports than almost any other notebook on the market. Even more impressive is that VAIO has managed to fit all that into the machine while retaining a slim form factor.
In total, the SX12 houses three USB Type-A ports, a USB-C for charging, one HDMI port, a full-size SD Card slot, a headphone and microphone combo port, one RJ45 LAN port, and for the kicks of it, a VGA port. Underneath the hood, the SX12 comes with either an 8th generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 CPU, as well as the option to have an LTE module built-in to the machine.
Despite packing all those I/O options and retaining its figure, the SX12 is also amazingly lightweight. As listed on the official product page, the notebook only weighs less than a kilogram at 888 grams. To compare, it’s lighter than Acer’s new Swift 7 notebook, albeit by just 2 grams more.
The VAIO SX12 is set to go on sale in Japan this week, and is expected to retail between 119800 yen (~RM4557) and 216800 yen (~RM8241). At the time of writing, Nexstgo, the official distributor of the VAIO brand outside of Japan, has not made any official statement over whether it intends to bring the notebook into the Malaysian market.
