Apple recently acknowledged that a “very small number” of 2018 Macbook Air devices are suffering from an issue that stems from their logic boards. To that end, the fruit company is reportedly offering Macbook Air owners affected by said problem free repair services.
According to MacRumors, affected users would have been sent out an email from Apple. Informing them about the issue, and that they could get the free repair at all Apple Store locations, as well as authorized service providers.
Oddly enough, none of the reports actually specify what exactly the issue is, only that it exists. It should also be pointed out that Apple’s repair policy is not a public one, and that it is only offering it both on the down low and to the affected customers.
As for Malaysian MacBook Air users, the program seems to only be available in the US. A quick check over at Apple Malaysia’s Support page shows no indication of the program being made available in the country, neither is there any word that Apple intends to extend the replacement program to MacBook Air users in the country.
