HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia 2.2 in Malaysia. The phone is the latest addition to the Nokia 2 series, as well as the newest member in its entry-level segment.
Specs-wise, the phone sports a 5.71-inch HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. While it is also part of the Android One program, the phone still runs on the latest Android 9 Pie OS.
Underneath the hood, the Nokia 2.2 is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, 2GB RAM, and comes with 16GB of expandable storage (up to 400GB via microSD). Moving on to the optics, the phone’s main camera utilises a single 13MP f/2.2 sensor, while the front-facing camera is a simple 5MP FF shooter. Of course, powering all these components is a 3000mAh battery.
Despite being an entry-level device, the Nokia 2.2 does come with some nifty features, such a dedicated Google Assistant button on the side, and Face Unlock technology. Additionally, the polycarbonate casing of the phone is switchable with other colours, though we have gotten confirmation that HMD Global isn’t bringing those additional colour into the country anytime soon.
The Nokia 2.2 is already available in Malaysia starting today, and is retailing at RM399. The phone will be sold available in two colours, Steel and Tungsten Black.
