MediaTek has officially announced the Helio P65, a new chipset under its mid-range Helio P series lineup. As written on the product’s official page, the P65 is an octa-core chipset comprising two ARM Cortex-A75 CPUs and six Cortex-A55 processors.
The launch of the Helio P65 comes with several new features and improvements for smartphone makers. Chief among these features is improved AI performance. Specifically, MediaTek boasts that the AI Performance on its Helio P65 is 30% faster than its direct competitor when it comes to AI Camera tasks brought about by Google Lens.
Besides improved AI, the new Helio P65 will also support large 16MP+16MP dual camera system that can be expanded to include wide or telephoto technology. As an alternative, and in keeping with the trend, the chipset can also support a single 48MP, 4-cell camera sensor. The chipset also contains a multitude of hardware accelerators many imaging technology. Including Depth of Field, Electronic Image Stabilisation, and Roling Shutter Compensation.
Other specifications of the Helio P65 include support for LPDDR3 and LPDDR4X memory, with maximum capacity support of up to 8GB RAM. On a side note, the CPU boost core clock is listed at 2GHz, while the GPU on the chipset is an ARM Mali-G52. In terms of connectivity, the new chipset only supports up to the Wi-Fi 5 standard, but surprisingly supports Bluetooth 5.0.
