Discord, the popular chat service among gamers, has been down and out for a while. The service has been inaccessible to millions of its users, with even the app’s website struggling to come back online.
According to sources, the issue has been traced back to a Cloudflare outage. Cloudflare, for those of you who don’t know, is a US-based company that handles network service delivery, internet security, and DDoS mitigation among other things.
Cloudflare points at a “possible route leak” that is affecting its network, which in turn has been affected Discord. In true Discord fashion and humour, the status site simply ends its update with a “Hang tight. Pet your cats” message, while the desktop app simply displays the message “Bastening the game turkey”.
Discord isn’t the only service that has been affected. Other sites such as Feedly and anime streaming service Crunchyroll were reportedly affected, though a Google search indicates that their services are already back online.
At the time of writing, Discord still remains offline, but is still resolving some technical issues.
