Apple recently has announced a worldwide voluntary recall for the 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina Mid-2015 model due to a battery issue. According to the company, the affected units were mainly sold between September 2015 and February 2017.
Apple stated that the battery on these units may overheat which of course, made it a safety risk. The company also pointed out that such units can be determined through their serial number which users in Malaysia can cross-check using this dedicated webpage.
If it was determined that your MacBook Pro is affected by the recall, do back up your data and then head on to the nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider which you can find through this website. The battery replacement is estimated to take around one to two weeks, according to Apple.
Of course, the battery replacement will be done free of charge although do note that this program doesn’t extend the standard warranty coverage that your MacBook Pro already have. To learn more, head on to Apple Malaysia’s official website.
