Telekom Malaysia (TM) today has announced the appointment of Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin as its new Group Chief Executive Officer effective from today, 13 June 2019 onwards. Noor Kamarul has also assumed the role of Managing Director and Executive Director at the company.
The announcement today is pretty much the conclusion of the search for a permanent Group CEO for TM which has begun since the departure of Shazalli Ramli back in June 2018. According to his profile that was provided by TM, Noor Kamarul has 34 years of experience in telecommunication network and services in fixed and mobile network as well as mobile broadband services.
The 60-years old executive has spent a major part of his career at Celcom, starting from 2003 as its Chief Technology Officer. He remained in the telco until March 2018 after serving the company in various other roles including Chief Information Technology & Transformation Officer, Chief Carrier Collaboration Officer, Chief Customer and Programme Officer, and Chief Special Project Officer.
As for Imri Mokhtar, who has led the company as its Acting Group CEO since November 2018, he remains at the company in his previous role as its Chief Operating Officer. This generally means Imri will continue overseeing the operations of unifi, TM One and TM Global as well as the company’s Information Technology & Network Technology division.
