The device has been rumoured for quite some time but today, Google has officially acknowledged the existence of its upcoming phone, the Pixel 4. Not only that, the company has also pretty much confirmed the phone’s design which was the focus of the recent online leaks.
First and foremost, the square shape of Pixel 4’s rear camera is indeed real as what prolific leakers, OnLeaks has revealed just a few days ago. In addition to that, there is no physical fingerprint sensor present as well; at least on the back on the phone, as far as the official image from Google is concerned.
Surely enough, this is not the first time that we’ve seen a square-shaped camera module. As you are able to recall, Huawei Mate 20 series are equipped with such module which immediately becomes a recognisable trait of Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20.
Aside from Pixel 4, the next batch of iPhone is rumoured to feature square-shaped camera module. If this turns out to be true, it looks like such a module could be the new design trend in the smartphone world very soon.
