Aside from the much hyped announcement of Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s release date, we also have news of a smaller scale remaster. It’s Final Fantasy VIII, and it will be launched later this year for pretty much all platforms.
Of course, being a remaster and not a remake, it’s not going to get a complete overhaul the way Final Fantasy VII Remake is. On the flip side, the remaster of Final Fantasy VIII will be very familiar to those who have played the PS1 version or the current one on Steam.

Originally released in 1999, the game was also released on Steam in 2013. This remaster will feature character models that look even better than the current Steam version, and will likely replace it as well.
As mentioned earlier, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will be made available on nearly all platforms. In other words, it will be available on PC via Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. There’s no exact release date, but it will be available later this year.
