In conjunction with the imminent release of Borderlands 3, Gearbox Software decided to surprise its fans with a new DLC of for Borderlands 2. The DLC is called “Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary”, and as the title suggests, it meant to bridge the event that took place between Borderlands 2 and the upcoming Borderlands 3.
According to the synopsis, the DLC kicks with Sanctuary under siege by a highly trained and militarised enemy, who’s objective is the Vault Map that the Vault Hunters had gained after the events that led to the death of Handsome Jack.
To up the ante, Gearbox Software has raised the in-game level cap to 80, giving returning players the chance to grind and farm better and more powerful loot. Further, newcomers will also receive automatic level boost to level 30, allowing them to skip the levelling grind, and jump right into the action of the DLC.
Borderlands 2 was released back in September 2012, and to critical acclaim. Like the first instalment, the game takes place around four playable characters that are known as Vault Hunters. Borderlands 3 is set to arrive on store shelves this September and will be available on both the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One consoles.
The game will also be made available for PC, first on the Epic Games Store as a six month timed exclusive. After which, the game will be available on Steam in April 2020. Surprisingly, the game will also be heading to Google Stadia, but no exact date has been confirmed.
As for the new DLC, it is already available for download on Steam and all current generation consoles, absolutely free of charge. The file size is approximately 3.3GB, which is pretty sizable for a DLC.
