In what seems to be a rather interesting development, Huawei’s name apparently has been reinstated into the SD Association’s members list. As you might be able to recall, the Chinese tech giant’s name was missing from the list last week which many believed are due to the current ban that the United States’ government has imposed on the company.
Not only that, the company is now back on board Bluetooth SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance, and JEDEC again as well. In general, the reinstatement of Huawei into all four groups means that existing and future Huawei devices will continue to feature all these technologies which are quite vital for a lot of modern smart devices.
Since all of these technology groups are based in the US, the decision to remove Huawei from their members’ list didn’t really require an explanation given the current circumstances between the Chinese company and the US government. That being said, the reinstatement is quite a mystery since it happened rather quietly.
Nevertheless, we suppose that Huawei can consider this development as a win anyway, as part of what expected to be a long battle against the ban by the US government.
