During Computex 2019, ASUS revealed the heavily armed ZenBook Pro Duo which seemingly does it all. For those who are looking for something a little more focused on the gaming side of things, the company has also announced the ROG Strix HERO III and ROG Strix SCAR III.
Both of these are the successors to the machines announced last year, so you can expect a few updated figures to come with them. Among a few key updates here includes Nvidia’s GeForce RTX series of GPUs.
With the ASUS ROG Strix HERO III, we’re looking at a laptop with a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, an Intel Core i7-9750H processor, and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. It also comes with 16GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD for storage. With this configuration, the ROG Strix HERO III still has an extra RAM and SATA slot to spare, if you feel the need to add more of either.
The ROG Strix SCAR III, on the other hand, comes with two size variants. Both also have specs very similar to the HERO III, with a few key difference. To start, one variant comes with a 17.3-inch Full HD display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The second variant, on the other hand, comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display, but with a 240Hz refresh rate. This model also comes with the more powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU.
Like the other items ASUS announced, the company did not divulge local pricing and availability details. We’ll be sure to let you know when we hear more from the company.
