As promised, ASUS has officially taken the drape off its brand-new smartphone, the ZenFone 6 earlier this morning. The launch event in Valencia has pretty much verified most of the rumours that we’ve seen online prior to it.
For starters, the ZenFone 6 does indeed feature a motorized free-angle flip camera which housed its main camera that consisted of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.79 6-elements lens, and laser autofocus system. The same module also housed another 13MP ultra wide-angle camera.
Also equipped with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ IPS display, the ZenFone 6 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and can be obtained with up to 8GB of RAM. Additionally, the phone also comes with UFS2.1 storage with capacities of up to 256GB.
ASUS has also put plenty of audio-related features into ZenFone 6 including stereo speakers, dual NXP smart amplifiers, Hi-Res audio output, and support for DTS:X Ultra. The phone also carries a substantially sized 5000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0 chargers.
Price-wise, the ZenFone 6 goes for EU 499 (about RM 2,327) with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage while the 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants of the phone are listed at EU 559 (~RM 2,607) and EU 599 (~RM 2,794) respectively. We’ll keep you posted once we hear more about its Malaysian availability and pricing from ASUS.
